A Local Design Firm, Launches an Online Guide Serving Ardsley, Dobbs Ferry, Hastings, Irvington, and the Surrounding Area
RivertownsGuide.com,
The New York Rivertowns Online
RivertownsGuide.com, LLC, is a comprehensive online guide to the Rivertowns and the surrounding area. From “Who’s playing at Irvington Town Hall this weekend?” to “What are the local pre-school choices?” all of the local information you need will be at your fingertips. With direct links to town websites, local museums, kids tennis classes, etc., RivertownsGuide.com will be the local resource that you have waited for.
The site is divided into 5 sections:
The Hot List: This area alerts residents of each of the four Rivertowns to local happenings of interest to their community. From school meetings, vacations schedules, and fundraisers to town events, votes, and new library hours. Call for Info is a page where information is requested from visitors for future postings. In News & Updates, visitors will hear about the changes to the website and new information that has been added.
What’s Happening: This section highlights the art exhibits, festivals, concerts, kids events, etc., happening in the coming weeks with direct links to the venue websites. What’s Happening continues onto a secondary page with event listings for the coming weeks and months. The top page and all subsequent pages also have a Seasonal Interest link for events/activities/resources related to the current season.
The Feature: The Feature is centrally located on the top page of the site and allows for more space to announce a large event, fundraiser, happening, or opening in the Rivertowns or neighboring area. Visitors should check back often as the Feature also highlights local events as the Weekend approaches. The Features Archive houses all of the old Features posts that remain relevant.
The Resources: This is where you will find basic resource listings. The resource section is divided into several pages: Shopping, Restaurants, Arts and Entertainment, Outings and Activities, For Kids, For Adults, Professional Services, Services for the Home, Green Living, Town Links, Moving to the Rivertowns, Schools/Camps, Pets, Escapes and Transportation.
And lastly, there is a Local section featuring Classifieds, Homes on the Market, Local Blogs, Local Talent (musicians, artists, etc.), Local Events and Free Events with local listings of free events for the coming weeks.
RivertownsGuide.com will support local businesses through various advertising options, which include downloadable coupons, pop-out information windows, and mini-websites for their advertisers. The website will be added to daily as visitors to the site are encouraged to share their favorite area resources.
Jennifer Holiday and Howard Grossman have lived in Hastings-on-Hudson since late 2001. After living in the Rivertowns for a few years, they were surprised to find that a web site didn’t exist that featured the rich array of happenings in the area along with local resources. So they decided to build RivertownsGuide.com. With Jennifer’s 15+ years of marketing experience in the publishing industry and Howard’s alomost 30 years in graphic design, they knew that they could create a web site that would be both comprehensive and functional, providing the Rivertowns with a much needed resource.
In addition, they currently have two creative firms, 744 Creative and 12E Design, which have been providing print and web marketing + design since 1997. They provide services for a wide variety of clients; 12E Design provides packaging design for the publishing industry while 744 Creative provides services to the arts community, local business, non-profits, and schools.

Locally, 744 Creative has been responsible for design work for a new identity and promotional materials for Music Conservatory of Westchester, Take Me to the River 2008, 2009 & 2010; Aquefest 2008, 2009 & 2010; Jazz & Blues Festival 2009; Hastings Friday Night LIVE 2010 & ongoing; downtown Hastings Banner Project; the Riverarts Artists’ Studio Tour, 2007 & 2008; Taiim Falafel Shack in Hastings [link] (identity + design + website + marketing); Shira Adler [link] (identity + website); Dobbs Ferry Fest (identity + design); among others. From launching a new business to sprucing up an identity, from websites to printed materials, if your business has Marketing + Design needs, give us a call. 914/478-4445
