If so, Staatsburgh State Historic Site can help! If you are a fan of the TV show, you will love touring the former country home of Ruth Livingston Mills and Ogden Mills. Staatsburgh will offer special Downton Abbey-themed house tours that explore the role of the mansion's servants and their interactions with their wealthy employers and houseguests. These special tours will be offered at 1pm on Saturday, April 6th, April 20th, May 4th, and May 18th. This tour will showcase the house, but it will also highlight the real life counterparts of the Downton Abbey characters, noting the specialized role each servant played and how the house functioned during a busy weekend of entertaining. It will also touch on the marriage between Beatrice Mills and the 8th Earl of Granard, part of period trend in which wealthy American girls—like Cora—wed titled gentlemen across the ocean. The Vista Steps - descending from the Persian garden, past the ruins of old color gardens, leading to ancient Roman columns that frame views of the Hudson river.
